Christmas seems to be zooming up on me this year.  Is this happening to you, too?  Wasn’t Thanksgiving yesterday?  It’s two weeks until the big day, and there are still hundreds of cookies to bake, presents to buy and wrap, pies to bake…We just yesterday got the tree up and decorated.  It looks shiny and glittery, but it’s making the rest of the house seem a little drab.  So I made some quick garland to dress the place up.  This is a great project if you’re short on time (and who isn’t this time of year?). And mini pine cones are so charming and are such a great rustic way to spruce up the house (bad pun completely intentional).  They are a nice contrast to all the glitz.  Which is good, too.  Who says you have to choose between the two? Not me.

supplies:

  • mini pine cones
  • kitchen twine
  • super glue
  • ruler
  • masking tape
  • marker
  • scissors

Lay out a piece of masking tape on your table, about 6 inches long.  Mark 2 lines, 4″ apart.
